Summary

The NASA Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD) Business Office is seeking qualified individuals to serve as a Workforce Support Management Analyst. Responsibilities will include providing guidance on the execution of day-to-day business operations and participates in a variety of long-term strategic business activities, special projects, and initiatives in support of the ESDMD workforce.

  • Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
  • Provides overall business management for the organization and advice to executive management that may including interpreting, developing, and implementing local/enterprise policies or defining administrative requirements.
  • Provides business programs support activities of an organization in areas such as: awards administration, training, information systems, records management, budget administration for organizational programs, and the procurement of goods/services.
  • Prepares reports, identifies, and advises management regarding workforce needs.
  • Conducts analysis to identify organizational issues. Develops recommendations and implements process improvement initiatives to resolve complex organizational problems. Adjusts and updates organizational policies and procedures.
  • Prepares status reports and responses to data calls. Gathers data, analyzes information, and provides metrics outlining general trends, issues, themes on a variety of areas impacting the organization and overall organizational health.
  • Communicates concisely and effectively with stakeholders, and management officials. Prepares and presents briefings, reports, and presentations to the organization and senior leadership in writing or orally.
  • Performs a variety of administrative services in support of action tracking, risk management, project definition/prioritization, and status reporting.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:

  • Supporting the development or analysis of employee programs, budget or financial programs, procurement management, records management, or electronic information technology management programs;
  • Assisting with analyzing the performance or effectiveness of administrative functions to identify or implement process improvements;
  • Supporting or serving on teams to analyze and interpret policies, procedures, or operations and providing recommendations for improvement.

To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
  • Developing or analyzing employee programs, budget or financial programs, procurement management, records management, or electronic information technology management programs;
  • Analyzing and monitoring the organization's statistics for projected staff and reporting or presenting results to senior leadership;
  • Analyzing and interpreting policies, procedures, and operations to recommend solutions to senior level management for the improvement of processes or services.
