Duties

Help

Serves as the Project Coordination Specialist responsible for gathering, coordinating and analyzing data, developing plans, reports, providing analysis and recommendations on various administrative tasks, and scheduling events and meetings.

  • Analyzes, coordinates and/or performs a variety of special administration assignments which lead to resolution of management problems and improvement of operations.
  • Provides management information, advice, and assistance to the State ARNG/ANG Command staff, Directorates or Group Commanders on programs/projects assigned.
  • Serves as a Project Manager for emerging projects assigned by The Adjutant General and senior leaders.
  • Delivers presentations and correspondence on program status, accomplishments, problems, support requirements, and promotion of program objectives to senior military officers and civilians in other program offices throughout the command.
  • The incumbent researches current Law, DoD, Department of the Army (DA), Department of the Air Force (DAF), NGB, and State policy, and uses judgment to decide appropriate policy and procedures in relation to current projects, taskings, issues and concerns.
  • Monitors and analyzes project progress, recommending changes based on findings as needed.
  • Develops all reports, briefings, and status of assigned projects.
  • Determines appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow-up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have the experience which provided a general knowledge of principles of administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS 09 grade level, or civilian equivalent, which includes: 1) Program or managerial experience in Administration; 2) Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out administrative programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations; 3) Experience in administrative supervisory or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures; and 4) Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.


Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.
