Duties

Help

Works under the supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Manager to perform a variety of program support work for a broad range of Outdoor Recreation Operations and/or maintenance activities; focusing on areas such as financial, scheduling, training, personnel, inventory, marketing, planning, projects, facilities, and program management. Assists the manager in designing and executing a comprehensive program of activities, services, and events to meet the needs of the serviced population. Assists in planning and executing marketing and publicity program strategies for the activity. Ensures event dates are coordinated through FSS leadership well in advance to ensure they do not conflict with other wing or squadron events. Proactively plans and coordinates logistical support requirements with appropriate on-base organizations. Formulates, justifies, executes, and monitors NAF accounting transactions, budgets, and resources. Assists in developing a 5-year financial plan for all activities. Maintains a filing system to include items such as continuity files, after action reports, and calendars for future reference. Accomplished documentation in support of requests for personnel action and awards nomination packages. meets periodically with the activity manager to provide status of program planning updates. Attends program events both in and out of state which may include nights overnights and weekends. Assists assigned personnel in all areas and functions of Outdoor Recreation. Assists customers with program registration. Ensures security of merchandise, equipment and funds and provides training on established procedures. Provides excellent customer service, answers telephone and assists patrons with scheduling parties, leagues, fundraisers or other events. Maintains a clean, neat and safe work area. Performs other related duties as required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Ability to plan, organize and carry out projects related to one or more outdoor recreation programs and general work experience that has prepared the individual for performing broader projects described in the duties and responsibilities above. In addition, must have ability to effectively perform financial, program, facility, inventory, and personnel program support work. Must have skill to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel and Power Point, is highly desirable. Ability to follow procedures for group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities equipment, rules and procedures which involves recreational work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. The employee must possess and maintain a valid state issued motor vehicle operator's license. Work may require physical exertions and must be able to lift, bend, walk or stand for long periods of time. Repeated lifting or moving of equipment will be required. Will be required to work outside normal business hours which include nights and weekends. May be subject to irregular tour of duty. The employee will need to be certified in First Aid and CPR. This is a drug testing designated position. The Incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Condition(s) of Employment: Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Negative drug test result is required. Maintain Valid State issued drivers license. Certified in First Aid and CPR.

Education
