Duties

Help
  • Performs technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods.
  • Assists with or conducts training on program requirements.
  • Applies practices to resolve a variety of problems related to accounting, budget or financial management.
  • Extracts data from records to prepare reports.
  • Tracks budgetary transactions.
  • Determines pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports.
  • Performs technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
  • Maintains and reconciles pay accounts.
  • Applies account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Reviews and maintains complex accounting, budget or other fiscal transactions.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background check.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position may be eligible for Situational/Ad-HOC Telework.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes support in the handling of cash items, determining payroll, and maintaining pay accounts.
