Help
  • As Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating Control Technician Specialists, performs numerous and varied duties.
  • Services, operates, modifies, repairs and/or installs sophisticated heating, cooling, and ventilation systems with very complex controls that far exceeds formal Army construction.
  • Responsible for modification, maintenance, servicing, repair, and/or installation of refrigeration plants.

  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

  • The duties of this position may require the incumbent to work evenings, nights, holidays, and/or weekends to include modification in shifts and/or tour of duty.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the full range of journeyman level heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work which involves troubleshooting the equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to isolate the problem to the malfunctioning component, or assembly and performing repairs. I am skilled in making modifications, performing test calibrations in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and procedures, repairing HVAC systems and equipment and back flow preventor systems. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort - Work requires extensive walking, standing, crawling, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing and lifting. Must be able to work from ladders in cramped positions and in small spaces.
  • Working Conditions - Incumbent is subjected to conditions affected by heat, rain, snow, humidity, dust and grease, extreme cold, indoors and outdoors, roof tops. Hazards: toxic and/or explosive fumes, cuts and bruises, burns by electric shock, burns from chemically treated water, falls from ladders, bursting steam pipes, scalding water, etc.
