Duties

Help

The incumbent of this position serves as an Industrial Specialist on a multi-functional Operations Team performing production surveillance over one or more government suppliers involving complex products, services or contract requirements to monitor adequate and time performance on procurements with DOD and other agencies. The duties include:

  • Utilize supplier risk management tools to determine the appropriate priority, and intensity of surveillance required for individual assigned supplier facilities.
  • Perform risk based contract schedule surveillance and delivery management on assigned contracts to improve on-time delivery rates by identifying root causes to late deliveries and working to eliminate or minimize the effects of the root causes.
  • Discuss non-compliant areas with supplier representatives towards obtaining informal corrective action.
  • Serve as a member of a Program Support Team.

Qualifications

In order to be qualified for this position, you must possess one of the following:

A.
A bachelor's degree (in business administration, industrial management, engineering, applied sciences, or another field related to the position) and you have superior academic achievement (SAA) based on one of the following:

1. class standing (upper third standing in graduating class);
2. grade-point average (2.95 overall or over the last two years of bachelor's degree -or- 3.45 in your major field or over the last two years in your major); or
3. election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.

-OR -

B. At least one full year of graduate level study in business administration, industrial management, engineering, applied sciences, or another field related to the position, or possess a master's or higher degree in one fields of study as listed above.

- OR -

C. At least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the methods, materials, machinery, and facilities used in industrial production operations (which may include exploration, extraction, refining, manufacturing, or processing). This knowledge may have been gained in work such as: management or supervision of production operations; or industrial planning, industrial engineering, or plant engineering involving determination of facilities and layout; or process or methods development involving production practices associated with chemical, mechanical, electronic, textile or food industries; or development of specifications to define work products; or sales engineering or buying that required a comprehensive knowledge of production operations, etc.- OR -D. Have less than the full amount of graduate education described in "B" and less than the amount of experience described in "C," but I have a combination of the type of graduate education described in "B" and the type of experience described in "C."
