Duties

Help

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, project managers, and team leads, to analyze requirements, deliver industry-leading voice/video technical solutions successfully and on time.
  • Test new software releases for audio visual and video teleconferencing devices to ensure interoperability with existing infrastructure, support monthly maintenance window activities.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices for conference room technology.
  • Lead a project team in the full development lifecycle including requirements gathering, estimation, design, development, QA testing, deployment, and maintenance in a Jira environment, keeping management and customers involved through the entire process. This could include new system or major enhancements to an existing system.
  • Identify new and existing products, technologies, and/or architectures to solve design, development, and operational problems.
  • Provide advanced programming and graphic touch panel interface layouts to assigned project teams for integrated AV/IT systems using primarily Crestron, C++, Java, HTML, and other programming languages as needed to meet project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage voice and telecommunications vendors, service providers, and equipment suppliers, negotiate contracts, and oversee service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training to junior engineers and team members, collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, network operations, security) on projects, and contribute to technology planning and strategy discussions.

Qualifications


GS-13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

  • Current or previous experience as an IT Team Lead or Supervisor.
  • Highly proficient using JAVA, HTML, C++, or similar types of programming languages, as well as knowledge of digital communications protocols such as IP, RS232, RS485.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience communicating in verbally and in writing difficult messages clearly and with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality voice solutions.
Desired Skills

Desired skills are NOT mandatory and will NOT be utilized to minimally qualify applicants.
Desired Skills are:
  • Crestron Master Certified Programmer.
  • Engineer, design, install, support audio/video solutions that include Crestron as the core infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently as well in a team environment.

Education may NOT be substituted for specialized experience.
