Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Assist higher-grade scientists/engineers in the design and development of standalone software and/or cloud base solutions;
Utilize basic understanding of the concepts behind object oriented computer languages including Java, Python, and C++;
Understand and apply the basic concepts of configuration management and source code control processes.
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Completion of a bachelor's degree
OR
Completion of 1 year of graduate-level education
OR
Combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equals one hundred percent.
