Duties

Help

Applies AFI's, regulations and NAF Operating Instructions to cash management and accountability.
Works independently to accomplish goals and mission.
Is accountable for all cash and assets in the depository.
Submits reports to Accounting Officer.
Schedules and organizes cash deposits with FSS facilities on a daily basis.
Performs checks to insure there are no discrepancies or irregularities with deposits and works with supervisor to report and fix any issues.
May fill in and perform Accounting Technician and VAT Office Clerk duties as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience showing arithmetic aptitude and ability, accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to conduct repetitive accounting procedures and techniques.
Progressively responsible clerical experience the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody and other methods of processing cash items with includes: direct handling of cash and use of cash accountability control methods.
Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
The ability to operate business machines, such as a cash register and calculator.
Must possess skill in dealing with the public.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
