Permanent - Permanent Full-Time Seasonal- Seasonal signifies an annually, recurring period of employment of less than 2087 hours per year. During non-work periods you will be placed in a non-duty, non-pay status.
Operates truck tractor with tandem drive and fifth wheel attached to low-boy trailer, or other type trailers, on mat casting fields and adjacent areas and on public highways, levees, unimproved roads and woods trails.
Hauls 30 ton stacks of concrete mattress from loading to unloading site. Positions trailer for loading by crane, transports mat over muddy and boggy roads, in musty and foggy atmospheres.
Hauls heavy equipment and supplies such as bulldozers, cranes, tractors, hauling rigs, materials, supplies, and concrete mat.
Check and operate vehicle each day for maintenance and safety violations in accordance with safety and operators manual.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
Must possess and maintain a Class A CDL license. May require a Hazardous Materials Endorsement to CDL. (MUST ATTACH CDL)
This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Qualifications
Schedule: During the Revetment season, typically June through December, all Revetment employees, including this position, travel in various locations along the Mississippi River. The employees work 12 workdays on & have 2 days off. Employees will be on TDY & will lodge in hotels within the vicinity of the work area. During the work season this position works typically a 10-hour shift. During the non-Revetment season, the crew works at Ensley Engineer Yard, Memphis, TN, on either a 5-day/8-hour or 4-day/10-hr.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Safely operating one or more types of motor vehicles, and the ability to perform small maintenance tasks on a motor vehicle. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Moderate physical effort is exerted in operating large truck and assisting with repairs and servicing equipment. Also required to do moderate lifting and pushing.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed outside in extreme weather conditions. Driver is inside cab but still subject to dust, fumes, wind, rain, heat and cold, noise, flying particles and moving machinery.
