Duties

Help
  • Serve as a branch chief within the Program and Budget Division.
  • Plans the work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
  • Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
  • Performs a wide range of administrative and analytical duties in the formulation, presentation, and execution of the administrative and management portion of the Fort Leonard Wood budget.
  • Directs, formulates and implements the development, execution, analysis and evaluation of financial and budget programs as required each fiscal year and develops multi-year budgets plans and forecasts.
  • Participates in briefings to Comptroller, Commanding 0fficer, and Operating Officials on budget and financial analysis findings.
  • Provides technical advice and assistance to Budget Staff and installation managers in the development of OMA/OPA/RDTE budgets as to proposed applicable range of budget estimates.
  • Reviews and edits budgets, actual cost verse proposed estimated costs, and variances submitted by agency program managers, and budget analysts to assure that they conform to agency, OMB and Congressional requirements.
  • Analyzes and interprets the impact of new legislation on the administrative expense portion of the agency's annual budgets.

  • THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012,
  • Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d.
  • Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
  • Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience in the analysis, formulation, and execution of an organization's budget; experience in analyzing trends to make budget estimates, adjustments, and recommend alternate actions; reviewing fund utilizations; and advising staff/and or supporting units on budgetary regulations and guidance.
