Summary

You will serve as the Administrative Specialist for Directorates at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and will be responsible for a variety of administrative, human resources and associated management support services for the organization. Placement will be within the following organizations: Exploration Ground Systems Program (LX) and Exploration Research and Tech Programs (UB).

Duties

Help
  • Oversees and manages a variety of administrative programs in areas such as awards administration, training, performance management, position management, personnel actions, and related administrative support services.
  • Serves as Human Resources Liaison for the Directorate. Plans for and provides a wide range of liaison services to support human resources administrative activities of a complex and/or specialized nature.
  • Manages the Directorate’s Awards Program including all awards calls, oversight, and processing of all awards to include directorate honor awards and agency medals. Distributes awards budgets, monitors organizational award balances.
  • Provides overall administration program management for the organization including interpretation, development, and implantation of local and/or enterprise policies.
  • Defines administrative requirements and provides advice to senior leaders within the Directorate.
  • Provides advice and guidance to managers and employees on questions and situations related to the administrative services provided, and policy implementation.
  • Resolves complex organizational problems and develops recommendations by gathering information to identify and analyze issues.
  • Fosters a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Champions NASAs commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility to create an environment that promotes a commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:

  • Providing administrative support in one of the following areas: award programs, employee training, personnel management, performance management or related support services;
  • Evaluating administrative functions to identify/implement process improvements; and
  • Defining administrative requirements and providing advice to others based on interpreting, developing and implementation of policies and/or procedures.
