Duties

Help
  • You will provide accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
  • You will examine, verify, maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, and prepare and analyze reports.
  • You will examine invoices, vouchers, and related documents.
  • You will determine pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government.
  • You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • You will post, examine, balance, compute, and extract data from records to prepare reports.
  • You will performs technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintaining ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience verifying, maintaining and reconciling accounts and accounting data, preparing and analyzing reports.
  • Experience with accounting systems and applying accounting methods and techniques.
  • Experience examining invoices, vouchers and other similar financial documentation for accuracy.
  • Experience maintaining payroll records.
  • Experience supporting budget analysis and formulation.
