Duties

Help
  • Perform a variety of financial management functions within compliance, including payments and collections.
  • Maintains, develops and furnishes budgetary data to other district elements for inclusion informal and informal budgets, reports, studies, memos, and any other type of correspondence.
  • Ensures all military/civil billings and collections are in compliance with applicable budgets as required by AR 37-1.
  • Monitors financial obligations ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Schedules all military/civil reoccurring and non-reoccurring payments.
  • Creates Purchase Request and Commitments (PR and C’s) for a variety of purchases and payments.
  • Plans and carries out assigned work and coordinates with others as work dictates.
  • Initiates real estate actions for updating and maintaining current status of funds and manpower.
  • Prepares and reviews requirements necessary for operation of real estate programs and phases of the funds and manpower requirements.
  • Assists in Time and Attendance processes.
  • Prepares recommendations and requests to other district elements, higher authority and/or federal installations or agencies on requirements for allotment of Civil or Military Funds.

  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Vacancies from this announcement may be filled at the following grade levels: GS-07 and GS-09. This position has promotion potential to the GS-09 grade level. If selected below the full performance level, incumbent maybe non-competitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.

Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal Service which includes providing a variety of financial management and budget functions for the Real Estate Division, involving payments, collections and other tasks within budgetary constraints, for Civil and Military missions.

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal Service which includes compiling, analyzing and summarizing financial and/or budgetary information related to assigned areas of the organization's financial program.

OR

Education: One full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) up to the first year (total graduate semester hours minus18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
