Duties

Help
  • Works under the supervision of the Director of the G2 Office of Intelligence, Protection and Nuclear Security.
  • Supervises the General Intelligence Security Management Division of the White Sands Missile Range, G2 Office.
  • Serves as the Senior Technical Expert for all areas of Operational Security (OPSEC) for selected DA/DoD Special Access Programs
  • Develops job descriptions, changes job descriptions in support of hiring personnel and ensures permanent changes are documented on appropriate Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA).
  • Establishes and implements comprehensive OPSEC programs involving highly sensitive Research and Development efforts.
  • Provides broad administrative and policy direction through discussion of program goals, and higher HQs policies affecting the White Sands Missile Range Test Center security posture.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 25% or less
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within first two years of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experienc is defined as:

1. Experience interpreting the intent of international agreements between the US and foreign countries as they apply to various weapons systems AND
2. Experience managing a security program of two or more of the following disciplines: Personnel Security, Operations Security, Information Security, Industrial Security, Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA), Special Access Program Security (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Policy, Foreign Disclosure, Technology Protection and Foreign Treaties.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Communications
  • Operations Security
  • Security Program Management
  • Technical Competence


Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
