JOB TITLE: Supply Technician
BUSINESS TITLE: Supply Technician (Scuba)
FLSAL Non-Exempt
JOB SERIES: 2005         PAY LEVEL: NF-02


INTRODUCTION: This position is located under the Business Operations Branch, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Division, Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Butler.  The primary purpose of this position is to provide support in efficient and economical purchasing, procurement, and inventory of supply items to Business Operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: 
Performs detailed clerical and technical support work within the framework of established supply management guidelines by applying standardized supply practices.  May be responsible for inventory control, storage and distribution of organizational assets, supply inventory identification system, property utilization, and shipping and storage of parcels and printed materials.  

Contributes to the operation of a cost savings program in which excess goods and supplies from the Scuba Program Warehouse and/or assigned facility are kept for redistribution and/or use by other Business Operations Branch facilities in need.    

Monitors stock conditions of all items, both resale and non-resale. Conducts periodic inventory in every Tsunami Scuba facility in order to determine appropriate PAR levels.  Reports items with discrepancies and informs the Lead Supply Technician of items low in stock. Controls storage areas, insures all products are properly rotated and stored in the proper area. Makes recommendations for improvement of the flow of goods through the operations.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards.  Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures.  Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

The incumbent may coordinate the appropriate logistical support to facilitate the transportation, or assist in the delivery, of equipment or goods to customers or other entities; provide guidance to junior employees on the proper supply techniques; coordinate required maintenance on stored equipment and report the discovery of damaged or lost equipment; and prepare standard reports as required.  Follows all applicable organizational guidelines and all tenets of EEO; reports any questions or concerns to the supervisor if/when they arise.

May serve as a Government Credit Purchase Card (GCPC) holder, ensuring that proper controls are applied on the expenditure of funds, the purchasing of office supplies and/or equipment; and/or the auditing credits, debits, and adjustments throughout each fiscal year.  Conducts research to seek the best sources for products when items are needed.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.  Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.  Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact.  Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems.  Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services.  Takes action to solve problems quickly.  Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.  

Adheres to safety regulations and standards.  Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures.  Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:


1. Must be at least 18 years old AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school;
(Valid documentation will be required upon hire.)

2. Must be able to perform prolonged standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and carrying.

3. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, and nighttime.

4. A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator's permit is required for the performance of duties for this position. The incumbent is required to obtain required GOV licenses within 45 days of hire. Inability to obtain or maintain appropriate GOV licensing may result in termination for lack of qualifications.

5. Have a strong command of the English language to include written and oral skills.

6. Ability in operating Microsoft Programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


1. Practical working knowledge and experience in supply or related field with automated supply systems such as AXS-one, ePR, eBPA, RecTrac and the ability to apply the complex coding structures for specific supply transactions.

2. Knowledge of procurement and purchasing regulations, policies and procedures, and delivery procedures and methods.
