Summary

You will serve as an Executive Assistant, reporting to the N1 Department Head, performing a variety of critical office management functions and oversight of administrative functions and/or projects. You will provide key assistance pertaining to the day-to-day administrative activities of the executive staff. This position is located at NAVY CYBER WARFARE DEVELOPMENT GROUP in Fort Meade, Maryland.

Duties

Help
  • You will perform a variety of critical office management functions and oversight of administrative functions to ensure the needs of executive staff are met.
  • You will provide key assistance pertaining to the day-to-day activities of the executive staff: Commanding Officer (CO), Executive Director (ED), and Executive Officer (XO).
  • You will evaluate the administrative operational procedures and requirements for organizational efficiency and productivity.
  • You will maintain the executive staff appointment calendar.
  • You will coordinate with other command representatives regarding the communication requirements and plan for executive-level travel, VIP visits, major events, social activities, and speeches.
  • You will research and read policies, directives, and regulatory guidance pertaining to all administrative matters in order to be aware of new, revised, or amended processes and procedures.
  • You will advise the staff of significant changes and develop local internal administrative processes and procedures.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • The incumbent will be required to obtain access to National Security Agency (NSA)/U.S. Cyber Command facilities and networks through further security screening processes in order to accomplish assigned duties.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  1. Coordinate with executive staff on workforce management activities involving billet management, resource allocation, and personnel requirements;
  2. Use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Microsoft Access, Powerpoint, and other office automation systems to update internal website, create templates, electronic and paper files, and standard operating procedures for organizational usage;
  3. Participate in the coordination, integration, and synchronization of staff actions, events, and activities personally affecting and involving organizational staff
OR

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

LL.M., if related.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

The Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group (NCWDG) conducts technical research and development to create, test and deliver advanced cyber, cryptologic, space and electronic warfare capabilities to the U.S. Navy using rapid prototyping and acquisition authorities. As U.S. Fleet Cyber Command's lead for cyberspace operations innovation, NCWDG military and civilian personnel experiment with and test new cyberspace capabilities to meet the strategic and operational goals of fleet and combatant commanders. You will serve as the Executive Assistant performing a variety of critical office management functions and administrative tasks supporting the NCWDG Commanding Officer, Executive Director and Executive Officer.
