Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a technical authority for the automatic declassification efforts for the Department of Navy.
  • You will be responsible for quality assurance reviews of permanent historical classified records that are 25 years old or older.
  • You will oversee the contractor declassification operations and report any administrative concerns to the Contracting Officer's Representative and Supervisor.
  • You will be responsible for handling and safeguarding both National Security Information and Sensitive but unclassified information.
  • You will participate in DRMD declassification production ensuring compliance with all directives, timelines and quality of work.
  • You will possess comprehensive knowledge of the National, Department of Defense (DoD) and DON information security programs.
  • You will have extensive practical experience with Atomic Energy, Foreign Government Intelligence, operational and technical information classification and declassification.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • The incumbent must be certified by DoD at the Security Program Integration (SPI) level. If not certified, the incumbent must achieve SPI certification within 24 months of assuming the position.
  • This is a DoD Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) position designated position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to currently possess a certification as a Historical Records Restricted Data Reviewer in accordance with E.O. 13526 and the Kyl/Lott Amendment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties:

1) Performing declassification reviews of permanent historical classified records designated for declassification;
2.) Handling and safeguarding both National Security Information and Sensitive unclassified information; and
3.) Reviewing and interpreting information regarding classification and declassification of operational and technical information.
