Duties

Help
  • Serves as a Financial Management Trainer for a highly mobile Operational Support Team (OST) which prepares and trains Financial Management (FM) units in all components of the Army for worldwide deployments .
  • Provides realistic technical training for Accounting, Commercial Vendor Services, Pay Support, Electronic Commerce, Financial Management Operations, Internal Control, Disbursing, and Instructor Led Training.
  • Assists with the planning and coordination of Mission Rehearsal Exercises (MRXs) for deploying FM units.
  • Executes financial management training events and technical readiness validation exercises for Financial Management units across all components of the Army (Active Duty, US Army Reserve, and Army National Guard).
  • Captures and implements lessons learned and training feedback from deployed / exercised units. Produces input for after action reports distributed to exercised units.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:

For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in training personnel in Financial Management (FM) Technical competencies. Developing financial management systems training including disbursing; e-commerce; banking; commercial vendor services; travel claims; plans & policy development; internal controls; Executes financial management training events and technical readiness validation exercises for Financial Management.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
