The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.

Duties

Help
  • Direct all acquisition and funding activities for a program.
  • Utilize contracting and procurement knowledge to meet mission needs.
  • Develop solutions to broad management/ business problems in which previously established techniques are inadequate.
  • Make recommendations concerning procurement in accordance with organizational goals.
  • Communicate with entities, such as representatives of other functional areas, managers, and representatives of other/higher command, industry and academia, concerning acquisition management and project procurement management matters.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience proposing various contract methods for the acquisition of major weapon systems/programs 2) Experience managing a contract across the acquisition life cycle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/ GS-05-12).

Education
