Duties

Help

The primary purpose of this position is the processing of receipt documents for all material received for placement into storage in the warehouse.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include:

This position has a set schedule: 0800-1630 (0800-1730 RDO)

- Printing system generated batches, sorting and delivering documents to appropriate areas.

- Recording non-system generated documents and examining documents for completeness and accuracy of data.

- Processing special requests and delivery destination changes for received documents.

- Scheduling and ordering office and safety supplies as needed to maintain authorized levels of stock.

Qualifications

This position requires one year of general experience. General experience includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Examples of general experience for this position would include: conducting physical inventories, processing requisitions to stock supplies, searching catalogs, records, or other data sources to obtain correct stock numbers; processing documentation for stock item receipts, maintaining such items in a supply room or similar storage area; issuing material to shop or work center personnel, keeping local stock records; requisitioning office supplies, forms, publications, or other printed materials; operating computer terminals or personal computers to perform records search, data input, and data corrections.

Substitution of Education for Experience:  Candidates may meet the basic qualification requirements for this position through 2 years of education above the high school level.

Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience.

National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

The necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to perform this job are:

- Knowledge of all transactions affecting the supply system; accounting transactions related to ordering and receipt of inventory.

- Knowledge of the various types of procurement/receipt documents.

- Knowledge of local and agency regulations, procedures, and policies regarding receipt processing.

- Skill of a qualified typist is required.

- Knowledge of automated data entry systems and various software programs.

1. Best-Qualified: Applicants possessing experience that substantially exceeds the minimum qualifications of the position and demonstrate high proficiency in all of the critical competencies, including all Selective Placement Factors (SPF) and appropriate Quality Ranking Factors (QRF) as determined by the job analysis.
