Duties

Help
  • You will provide direction, policy guidance, and oversight of subordinate personnel.
  • You will be responsible for developing policies, procedures and methods as well as directing and overseeing the evaluation of antiterrorism, force protection, law enforcement and physical security.
  • You will serve as the subject matter consultant for Department of Navy (DON) for the protection of DON assets and develops, recommends, coordinates, and oversees the execution of policies involving antiterrorism and physical security.
  • You will develop and present oral and written reports to senior management, assistant directors, high ranking military and civilian officials within and outside of Navy
  • You will recommend equipment, methods, policies, procedures, and systems to enhance the level of security in the protection of U.S. assets
  • You will be a liaison, consultation and coordination with senior level management official at headquarters and field components and offices worldwide.
  • You will represent NCIS at high-level meetings or briefings with senior and high-ranking civilian and military representatives outside of NCIS
  • You will provide recommendations or justify and defend policies, procedures, and training requirements.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position has been designated as a Security Professional Education Development (SPeD), designated position; Physical Security Certification (PSC) is required within 24 months of assuming the position and must be maintained.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience working with military programs, Navy security force, working with state-of-the-art security equipment and devices, physical security requirements, commonly applied security principles. Preparing briefs, oral and written communication.
