Duties

Help

Serves as the Human Performance Program Coordinator to provide oversight for Semper Fit Health Promotion and Warrior Athlete Readiness & Resilience (WARR) Program activities that are intended to optimize Human and Combat Performance, promote Warfighter readiness, resiliency, and to decrease overall risk for injury and destructive behaviors.
 

Enhances force readiness by providing proper education and training on human and combat performance enhancement, proper execution of prescribed exercises and other related subjects in accordance with Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Combat Fitness Test (CFT), and Force Fitness Instructor (FFI) Program. Coordinate with local Marine FFIs and command representatives to develop and implement general physical preparedness programs for active duty service members.
 

Supervises, develops, and implements core elements of the Health Promotion program, which include, physical activity, injury prevention, nutrition education and dietary supplements, weight management, sleep performance, cognitive enhancement, tobacco cessation, chronic disease prevention, and sexual health and responsibility.
 

Plans and executes a comprehensive Human Performance program to improve overall health/wellness, physical fitness, cardiovascular endurance, strength, power, agility, flexibility, mobility, and functional movement. Instructs units and Marines in proper technique, preparation, and execution for the PFT and CFT. Conducts human performance and health/wellness assessments, which include, body composition, Vo2 max, metabolic testing, functional movement screens, physical readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q), health risk appraisals, and speed/strength testing. Analyzes testing and assessment data as compared to norms, develops short and long-term
programming based on individual and unit results and goals.
 

Plans, evaluates and refines course materials, exercise methods and techniques to educate active duty service members on tactical strength and conditioning, combat performance, and proper execution of physical training. Conducts program evaluations, consolidates data, provides reports and tracks trends to assess and improve program effectiveness. Maintains ongoing training and education to stay
abreast of the most current subject matter information, tools and practices in the field of tactical strength and conditioning. Evaluate, analyze, research, and implement program policies, guidance, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Bachelor's Degree in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences in exercise physiology, kinesiology, exercise science or other related field with curriculum focused on strength and conditioning, fitness and health promotion, nutrition, behavior modification, weight management, and injury prevention.

2. Three years' demonstrated knowledge and experience in planning, coordinating, developing, and executing a comprehensive physical fitness and health/well-being programs.

3. Knowledge of comprehensive performance assessments or physiological adaptation to acute and chronic exercise, contraindications to exercise and exercise program design.

4. Possess a current accredited advance level certification from National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM): Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C).

5. Possess a First Aid/AED/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

ADDITIONAL HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Certified NSCA Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) and/or Sports Performance Coach Level 1 - USA Weightlifting (USAW).

2. Possess a health education certification from a nationally accredited certifying organization such as the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or the Physical Activity in Public Health Specialist (PAPHS).

3. Two years' demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing strength and conditioning programming to tactical or athletic populations.
