Duties

Help
  • You will interview and counsel personnel requesting assistance in locating housing and referral to PPV, UPH, lodging and local community housing.
  • You will maintain continuous housing occupancy records of each preparation and investigate and correct discrepancies.
  • You will prepare a variety of housing reports for local management use and submission to higher authority.
  • You will maintain continuous liaison with PPV Property Manager, Disbursing Officers of serviced commands and with household goods personnel.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing housing documents and application forms for completeness and accuracy; 2) Maintaining records (i.e. housing referral lists, unit availability, etc.) to ensure information is up to date and accurate; 3) Responding to inquiries from housing applicants and various agencies to facilitate workload requirements; 4) Preparing housing reports for local management to submit to higher authorities. Note: This experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position.

Education


In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education
OR
Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Several vacancies may be filled.

Occasional travel off-island may be required.

Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary. Periods of sitting are required while counseling families in the office or via telephone, writing reports, or entering information into the local area network. Some walking, standing, or stair climbing may be required during periodic visits to various housing and billeting facilities. The incumbent is subject to emotional stress during peak workload periods, and must address and resolve complicated problems where tact, diplomacy, and self-control are mandatory.

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office utilizing the telephone, computer, copier, and fax machines, and attending meetings and training. The work involves normal discomforts associated with an office environment. Due to the number of visitors and telephone calls, the environment is one of the distractions. There are periodic visits to house and billeting facilities where there may be occasional exposure to dirt, dust, or orther irritants caused by repair or maintenance activities.
