Oversees all aspects of workspace construction and renovation projects, from initial planning to full occupancy.
Coordinating with contractors, managing furniture selection and logistics, and preparing recommendations for project decisions.
Liase between the furniture vendors and the government contracting officer ensuring the furniture meets contract specifications, is delivered on time, and the installation/removal minimizes disruption to the workspace.
Ensure all furniture projects and documents (drawings and specifications) meet American with Disability Act (ADA) and safety regulations.
Oversee quality control for furniture projects, implementing approved relocation or installation plans for mission-critical equipment within the facility.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) will be required 10% or less of the time.
Must be able to lift/carry at least 30 pounds (i.e. chairs, desks, etc)
Must be able to squat/work from your knees for at least 15 minutes at a time (disconnect/reconnect items under desks)
Must be able to operate a drill and use hand tools (assemble and disassemble furniture).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in architecture, interior Design, facilities management, Building Science, Construction Management,Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate or other fields related to the position to be filled.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
