Duties

Help

At the full performance level, major duties include:

  • Develop FDIC’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) strategic Plans and oversee OMWI’s efforts with assisting Divisions/Offices with developing and executing their internal DEIA strategic plans.
  • Develops DEIA goals and initiatives/objectives to measure performance and outcomes in a manner that prompts visionary adaptation of programs, plans and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with OCOM and other stakeholders to develop and implement a social media and marketing campaign to engage a broad and diverse talent pool and communicate key DEIA initiatives and programs.
  • Develop and write informational materials and presentations with the purpose of educating and often persuading a diverse audience of internal and external customers and the public regarding OMWI functions, programs, and initiatives.
  • Conducts studies to identify unusual, complex and systemic barriers to effective DEIA communications and develops new approaches and processes to resolve identified problems and issues.
  • Develops, monitors, and evaluates metrics to help measure and gauge the success of DEIA program initiatives across the Agency.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify at the CG-12, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience assisting in the development and implementation of communications strategies and outreach plans to support DEIA. 

To qualify at the CG-13, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience managing communications strategies, plans, and activities as it relates to DEIA programs; and writing and developing DEIA informational material, communications, media, platforms, or publications.

Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.

There is no substitution of education for the experience for this position.

Additional information

Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office at least 1 day per pay period beginning January 2, 2024, and at their supervisor’s direction to support mission and project needs. In person reporting requirements are expected to increase in July 2024.

  2. Skill in developing written materials in order to prepare public information documents, correspondence, directives, and procedures to a variety of audiences.
  3. Ability to develop and make oral presentation of findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  4. Skill in analyzing information and program data to evaluate effectiveness of programs related to DEIA communications and training to identify barriers to effective communications.
