Duties

Help
  • Support the Defense Information Systems Agency Zero Trust portfolio management office in assessing and developing proposed technical solutions to customer needs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to engage with representatives of customers to identify customer needs and resolve problems.
  • The incument will apply IT governance principles including incident management, change management, and problem management to improve program operations and management.
  • Employs broad knowledge of emerging technologies enterprise IT architecture, customer business processes, organizational plans, and resource requirements to accomplish assigned projects.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate proficiency with learning and assessing large technical systems and adapting them to meet customer needs.
  • Coordinate with program and customer stakeholders to ensure successful design and deployment of systems to meet customer needs on an agreed schedule.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.

Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs.

Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience.

Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. One year experience Appling IT principles, concepts, methods, and practices in assigned specialty area. Establishing metrics to measure and evaluate systems performance and total cost of ownership from the enterprise program perspective. Analyzing fundamental changes to configurations, standards, technology, problem trends, and support patterns within analyses of business needs and practices to develop business cases for new or modified systems or applications.

  • This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.

  • This is an Information Security (INFOSEC) position. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selected must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level 1 certification is required prior to be authorizing unsupervised privileged access.
  • Priority Placement Program (PPP) Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligible candidates will receive priority consideration at the highest grade level for which they have applied and been determined best qualified up to and including the full performance level.PPP Application Based Preference Eligibles (Military Reserve and National Guard technicians, Military Reserve and National Guard technicians receiving disability retirement, and Retained Grade employees) will receive priority consideration at the full performance level only.
