Duties

Help

Works under the direct supervision of the OR Director. Organizes a variety of outdoor activities, (individual and group), such as camping, canoeing, boating, hiking, bicycling, trips/outings, nature walks and aquatics. Organizes, directs and implements a comprehensive and safe aquatics program and manages the daily operation of BAFB pools to include hiring, training, pool maintenance in order to facilitate and provide swimming lessons, water safety tang, lifeguard tng. and other instructional swimming programs. Supervises all pool personnel and is responsible for their tng./schedules and the enforcement of safety rules and regulations. Ensures healthy pool environment by following AFI34-110 and AFI 48-114. Maintains AF form 708, swimming pool operational log and AF form 2043, recreation daily attendance and program record Ensures that programs conducted within OR meet financial goals. Prepares required p/work to contract instructors, order supplies, reserve/repair facilities or equipment and reports financial information precisely and timely. Works with other functional activities, i.e. youth center/teen program and others in the coordination of trips and events. Acts as a coordinator for the Base trails program. Provides six month and yearly activity plan to Marketing for proper publicity and support. Acts as OR Director in his/her absence. Performs other duties as assigned

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
General Experience: Must have knowledge of the principles and techniques of recreation programming equivalent to a 4 year undergraduate degree in the recreational field or 3 years experience in outdoor recreation programming. Computer skills and cash handling skills are required Must be able to lift 50-60 lbs and pass a basic physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). The incumbent is subject to random drug testing for drug use.

  • According to Executive Order 14043, "Guidance on Applying Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination Requirements to New Hires": New Department of the Air Force civilian employees must be fully vaccinated by their entry on duty (start) date or November 22, 2021, whichever is later.
