Duties

Help
  • In a Snack Bar prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc.
  • Prepares/slices lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches, salads, and pizzas.
  • Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned and cleans other work areas to include walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Accepts food orders from patrons and serves alcoholic beverages and spot checks the guest checks to insure that the information recorded is correct.
  • Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • May be exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, and hot working surfaces and extreme temperature changes when entering walk in refrigerators or freezing units.
  • There is a danger of falling from a ladder, of slipping on a floor where food or beverages have been spilled.
  • May work indoors in normal indoor kitchen and dining room conditions and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions running a food cart.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements (18) at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
  • An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Must be willing to accept intermittent, on-call employment.
  • Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays and/or special events.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • meet state/local age (18) requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages (Projected appointment date: 7/1/2024), AND
  • ability to work without more than normal supervision, AND
  • ability to keep your work area clean, neat, and in order, AND
  • basic food preparation and handling techniques, AND
  • ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, AND
  • knowledge of basic sanitization principles, AND
  • ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment, AND
  • ability to stand, stoop, bend, pull, push and reach for long periods of time, AND
  • ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 45 pounds.

  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will NOT be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
