DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position reports to Chief, Logistical Support. Serves as the focal point for all Squadron property and equipment management matters to ensure property control and disposal processes are consistent throughout the Squadron and to maintain single point accountability for excess and surplus property.
Coordinates actions with transportation, production, or other supply units. Provides necessary training, guidance and technical assistance to serviced activity managers on regulations, policies, and procedures related to the procurement, distribution, handling, and disposition of equipment, supplies, and other material. Acts as the liaison between Squadron, NWS Recycling, DRMO, and Chief Logistical Support.
Screens excess and surplus property for use in activities (in accordance with identified requirements.) Manages Squadron organizational processes for the control and disposition of accountable assets (e.g., receipt, tum-ins, disposal of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), transfers between activities and other bases, resolution of property account inventory discrepancies, and other logistics account matters.
Ensures consistency and appropriate cross referencing for meeting logistical needs for activities. Assists activity managers in identifying and processing property requirements. Ensure compliance with APF and NAF inventory procedures by conducting spot and periodic inventory reviews as required. Acts as the alternate vehicle control officer (VCO) and focal point for vehicle support requirements.
Assists with determining when property or equipment is serviceable or unserviceable prior to disposal by trade in, transfer to other NAFls, tum-in to DRMO or by NAF auction or sale. Assists activity managers to determine fair market value for all eligible items to be sold. Conducts sales for NAF equipment and property. Provides vehicle management support for FSS vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are properly maintained and allocated to support the Squadron in the most efficient manner.
Utilizes the Non appropriated vehicle management program to track Squadron vehicles. Responsible for entering and updating vehicle information in the vehicle management system. Assists Chief, Logistical Support with the management of Squadron's storage warehouse facilities. Utilizes material handling and identification equipment such as pallet jacks, small forklifts, bar code scanners, etc., to move, stack and unstack, load and unload, position, and account for equipment.

Qualifying Experience:
Progressively responsible experience in logistics which provided knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of the local logistics organization and the organization serviced. Knowledge of supply inventory and accountability procedures and regulations is required.
Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate the ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve and/or deviations from normal supply management procedures or program requirements. Computer and typing skills are required. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
Employee must have a valid South Carolina driver's license and have a good driving record. Position requires walking, standing, bending, lifting items weighing up to 80 pounds, and carrying up to 45 pounds. Satisfactory completion of a preemployment physical is required. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
