Duties

Help

Responsible for developing artistically appealing creative and imaginative visual illustrations through maintaining a strong
website/social media presence and print products for the purpose of promoting Force Support events and activities at Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE). Uses computer software such as Adobe Creative Design Suite, to develop and create a variety of media publications; develops materials such as illustrations, charts, graphs, design layouts, posters, flyers, brochures, calendars, etc. Manages project timeline and workflow to meet assigned deadlines. Determines the reproduction quality of illustrations, crops and scales photos, and prepares art and copy for commercial printer and website/social media outlets. Creates and maintains web site page graphics/layout, updates information continuously on web page and social media platforms such as Facebook, mobile app, etc. Designs all graphic materials for production on available equipment or for use by outside media sources. Writes and promotes articles about JBLE programs and events. Writes, edit and add artistic appeal and creativity to marketing material. Produces and distributes and/or installs all large and small format print materials for FSS Marketing. Assists in determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation and increase financial income to FSS activities. Additional responsibilities include processing marketing requests, assisting personnel by creating marketing materials for electronic publications & website, updating website, taking photographs or recording FSS events, assisting JBLE Marketing Chief with marketing research by designing surveys, conducting general office duties. Maintains outdoor marquees, banners, display boards, and schedule to include weekends and evenings in support of squadron/base events. Prepares and delivers presentations and marketing tables in support of 733 FSS. Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Experience with Adobe Creative Design Suite programs (Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and Flash) and Word Press, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Access) at the level required to accomplish the assigned production tasks. Prior professional experience in graphic design and computer layout with graphics-based computer hardware and software. Basic familiarity and understanding of concepts associated with publishing (print and web). Knowledge of correspondence, formats, grammar and spelling. Experience must have demonstrated the ability to perform research, select, arrange, compose and layout marketing materials. Must be organized and maintain proper files and have responsible experience which provides general knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices. Ability to communicate in writing and verbally, on a professional level, with co-workers, Leadership, clients and outside entities. Experience working with commercial printers is a plus. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds. Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach and climb. Work will frequently require to driving/walking to display areas over the course of the day to update marquee letters, banners, put together, design, troubleshoot displays and deliver marketing materials. Bachelor of Fine Arts Design preferred but not required. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to satisfactorily complete required security clearance. Education
