Help

Major duties include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze problems and use good judgment to ensure rapid solution.
  • Organize, coordinate, implement, and manage the Mental Health (MH) Special Program Social Workers, RNs, Occupational Therapists, other clinical staff, and supporting aspects of the outpatient continuum of care for the MH Special Programs.
  • Serve as point person for questions regarding the MH Special Programs staff.
  • Maintain time schedules and tours of duty to post accurate data in the automated time & attendance system.
  • Maintain a variety of records, files, and publications, such as clinical documents and business operation items.
  • Coordinate aspects of recruitment, including setting up interviews and assisting in new hire onboarding.
  • Interpret and administer rules/regulations related to Talent Management Systems (TMS), ensuring timely entry of completed training.
  • Prepare a variety of correspondence (i.e., memoranda, reports, newsletters).
  • Gather and analyze statistical data to prepare reports that will be shared with the team and other stakeholders.
  • Manage inventories, ordering supplies when necessary.
  • Utilize a variety of software (such as Microsoft Office) for research and reporting purposes.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (Evenings and weekends may be required.)

Physical Requirements: The work is predominately sedentary in nature with some walking, bending, carrying books, binders or files. Intense concentration is needed when performing all aspects of work to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for this position at the GS-6 level, you must meet the following:

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes but is not limited to: providing administrative support to an organization, such as timekeeping and managing supplies; maintaining records and/or databases of various types; managing staff and appointment schedules; preparing a variety of correspondence (such as memoranda, reports, brochures, etc.); and utilizing various software systems to collect/report on statistical data.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
