Duties

Help
  • Serves as Project Officer to the Assistant Program Executive Officer (APEO) or within a Project Management (PM) section for PEO GCS.
  • Performs a wide variety of support duties to facilitate the work of the APEO/PM, as well as the work of subordinate Project Manager/Product Manager offices.
  • Implements actions that are consistent with overall command direction and available resources.
  • Prepares and presents briefings in support of major staff actions and events.
  • Coordinates actions with PEO, Army, and DoD staff and senior officials on major and sensitive issues.
  • Tracks, manages, and facilitates the completion of tasks, reporting of significant activities, and routing of documentation
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on DoD, Army, PEO, and PM policy and statutes, directives, and regulations
  • Oversees the development and implementation of adequate internal control systems.
  • Conducts or participates in special studies and/or projects to develop data and information required for reporting purposes and prepares administrative reports.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 10% of the time.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectee must meet position requirements for practitioner certification in (A) Program Management within 60 months as of entrance on duty.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience at the NH-02 level that includes experience such as: 1. Analyzing data to develop and track plans, reports, documents, and briefings in support of organizational operations; 2. Tracking and completing organizational tasks and actions and provide analyses and recommendations on various one-of-a-kind and recurring projects/programs; 3. Reviewing directives, standard operating procedures, reports, briefings, or staff/talking papers to develop recommendations, documentation and correspondence; 4. Recommending improvements on the use and effectiveness of various management systems and procedures to ensure organizational goals are met; 5. Providing advice to management and/or supervisory personnel on a variety of administrative and support services to solve problems and improve organizational operations; and 6. Advising on administrative and programmatic matters and provide a full range of support services (i.e. prepare reports, workforce processes, and perform analysis related to cost, schedule and/or performance of efforts within the organization, etc.) to enable managers and other personnel to make informed and comprehensive decisions.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalent).
