Duties

Help

The Advanced Microwave Photonics Group, part of the Physical Measurements Laboratory, focuses on developing novel electrical and mechanical quantum circuits with an emphasis on problems in quantum information and the limits of measurement. Our approach utilizes tools and methodologies borrowed from several disparate fields, including applied superconductivity, quantum optics, microwave engineering, and cryogenics, producing results that have broad relevance to the quantum information science community.

As the new Physicist on our team you will:

  • Design and fabricate superconducting mechanical resonators coupled to Josephson junction circuits.
  • Perform cryogenic measurements of fabricated devices, including dilution refrigerator operation and sending and demodulation of microwave pulses.
  • Characterize mode coherence, coupling rates and measurement fidelities for all devices.
