Duties

Help
  • Provide expert guidance for the development, acquisition, testing, product improvement, and fielding of assigned programs.
  • Work with product managers to determine effectiveness of program integration and interoperability.
  • Analyze and evaluate legislator laws, policies, and procedures applicable to programs to implement and develop administrative and program principles, concepts, policies and objectives.
  • Develop, prepare, and present detailed program briefs outlining master plans and program objectives for assigned systems.
  • Coordinate, integrate, lead, and directly control the efforts associated with assigned projects.
  • Conduct briefings related to project costs, schedule and performance; perform staff actions associated with acquisition decision, safety certification, financial management, fielding, and transition to sustainment.

  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level Practitioner in the Acquisition Career Field Program Management within 60 months of entrance on duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) programmatic planning and reporting to include developing milestone documentation (i.e. Acquisition Strategies, Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, Intellectual Property); 2) monitoring obligations and disbursements through spend plans; and 3) analyzing programmatic and operational impacts to plans and milestones.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
