Duties

Help
  • Lead efforts related to financial planning, budgetary authorizations and financial management system requirements and participate on committees to discuss budget planning, management, policies and procedures at the state level.
  • Provide budgetary guidance to managers, supervisors and lower-level personnel regarding high-level budgetary activities and all phases of budget.
  • Develop quantitative reports as part of the Mid-Year, Third-Quarter, End-of-Year and other performance related events and participate in periodic audits of lower-level budgetary operations to ensure all proper processes are followed.
  • Provide clear and concise correspondence, analysis, and reports to achieve desired outcomes and ensure the integrity of the budget.
  • Interpret and assess the impact of new and revised Congressional legislation on the formulation of budgets.

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: analyze budget and program requirements for multi programs and complex funding requirements; use of automated systems to monitor obligations and expenditures for an organization or program and generate custom reports used to analyze effectiveness; create and prepare written and oral reports that correlate budget allocations and work units of accomplishment for high level management; provide strategic models and plan the budget for an organization for out years; use and research of principles, methods and techniques sufficient to plan and execute courses of action according to performance criteria for an organization applied to a broad range of activities or substantial depth of analysis; coordinate and develop training and learning for staff in budget and finance-related subjects.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
