This is a Term position scheduled to last 2 years.

This position is covered by Health Affairs Policy 97006, 23 Oct 96, which requires the employee to obtain Hepatitis B Immunization unless exempted by a physician.
Work is subject or rotating shifts and/or irregular tour of duty to include weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
This position requires prescribed credentials and/or current licensing as a Occupational Therapist. Clinical privileges will vary among employees within the scope of practice for each therapist's education and experience.

This is a Temporary position: This is an opportunity for a temporary promotion, change to lower grade, or reassignment NTE 24 months for a current DHA employee. At the end of the period, you will return to your permanent position of record. In some cases, arrangements and approval must be made with the losing management/agency.
This is a Temporary or Term position: This position MAY be made permanent without further competition as long as the selectee meets legal and regulatory requirements for a permanent appointment.
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion, reassignment, or change to lower grade NTE2 years by a current permanent DHA employee. Temporary promotions, reassignments, or change to lower grades may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 years, if the candidate is not a current permanent DHA employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years. With DOD approval, term appointments maybe extended up to a total of eight years.
Basic Requirements for Occupational Therapist:
Degree: A graduate (or higher level) degree that included an occupational therapy curriculum approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained, and completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.
Certification: Applicants must have passed the national examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0631 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working with Pediatrics patients with developmental disabilities, implementing occupational therapy treatment plans, and evaluating occupational therapy patients. . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Education
