This position is located in the Office of Information Technology (OIT), Executive Office for Immigration Review, U. S. Department of Justice. Incumbent serves Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) collects computer security threat information from Government and Industry sources, both classified and unclassified; assess the threat to EOIR; and adapt EOIR security posture to better protect EOIR information assets.

Duties

Help

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Advises OIT leadership on current security policies, measures, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance of the current operational environment and future development projects including new applications (commercial off the shelf and developed), hardware system upgrades and technology insertion, and cloud based services subscriptions.
  • Analyzes regulatory and policy directives and provides advice to system designers and system administrators on the consistency of proposed cybersecurity strategies.
  • Executes, coordinates, tracks, and reports on EOIR's cybersecurity program to secure IT systems, networks, and data in accordance with Federal and DOJ policy, procedures, guidance, and regulations.
  • Verifies that software installed is in compliance with applicable copyright laws and is incorporated into the IT system's life cycle management process. Serves as the technical liaison between the contractor and the Contracting Officer's Representative(s) (COR) with monitoring, reviewing, and determination of in compliance with terms and conditions of the contract specifications.

In order to qualify for the Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) ISSM position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL:

Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
  • Advising system designers and system administrators on the consistency of proposed IT cybersecurity strategies with regulatory and policy directives and on appropriate tradeoffs;
  • Advising OIT leadership on current security policies, measures, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance of the current operational environment and future development projects including new applications, hardware system upgrades and technology insertion, and cloud based services subscriptions; and
  • Serving as the technical liaison between the contractor and the Contracting Officer's Representative(s) (COR) with monitoring, reviewing, and determination of in compliance with terms and conditions of the contract specifications. (Your resume must CLEARLY demonstrate this experience)
