Monitor the main computer console for the operation of the Environmental Control and Engineer Smoke Control Systems to ensure proper operation, detect problem situations and provide emergency response in cases of serious situations.
Inspect, maintain, operationally check and repair a variety of systems such as the room status system, nurse call system, doctors' paging system, radio and public address system and broadband and coaxial cable communication system.
Repair and replace system parts and components to include circuit cards/boards, microprocessor chips, transmitters, receivers, hard wiring, controls, connectors, etc.
Provide technical advice concerning system capabilities and limitations.
Inspect, maintain, operationally check and repair a variety of complete electrical and electronic systems with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic subsystems and equipment and electronic controls.
May operate a motor vehicle.
Monitor and maintain complex electrical and electronic systems.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent to be able and willing to work from ladders and at heights of up to 25 feet.
This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. or more in the regular performance of duties.
The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Ability to perform common Inspector duties of troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and electronic control systems. Ability to make final repairs and correcting defects on electrical and electronic control systems under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
