Duties

Help
  • Responsible to valuate, install, maintain, diagnosis, repair, calibrate, and test medical electronic equipment/systems used at Army Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, overhaul, and surveillance testing of electronic components, medical equipment and systems, and modifications based on official guidance.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services, inspections operational checks, electrical safety inspections, calibration, and verification performance of medical equipment.
  • Set up and install new medical systems.
  • Attend meetings, seminars, and other training to assure consistency with state-of-the-art electronic medical equipment.
  • Provide technical training, assistance, and guidance to clinical staff and technicians.

  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 60 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the employee to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Subject to call back to duty to perform emergency repairs on equipment (on-call).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting with installing medical equipment and systems networked related to electronics and automation/networking such as X-ray apparatus, ultrasound scanners, surgical and dermatological lasers, physiological monitoring systems relevant to Environment of Care (EOC). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-08).

Education
