Duties

Help
  • Monitor and correct workflow errors and intermediate document (IDOC) errors in GFEBS daily
  • Review and evaluate budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures to support plans, programs, and activities.
  • Analyze and reconcile a variety of accounts and financial transactions within multiple financial systems.
  • Review various sources of procurement and financial data such as SharePoint lists, Access Databases, Standard Procurement System (SPS), GFEBS ERP, and GFEBS Business Intelligence (BI) to track and evaluate new and aged commitment items.
  • Maintains, corrects and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
  • Run daily and non-daily accounting reports in GFEBS (Daily and Non-Daily Accounting) analyze financial data.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the successful completion of the Financial Management Level 2 Certification within 2 years of employment.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes analyzing financial data to support the planning, programming, budgeting or execution of financial programs; interpreting financial/budgeting policies and regulations; utilizing automated financial management systems such as GFEBS to analyze and reconcile financial data and obligations.

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or Buisness Management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

A Financial Management Certification level 1 is highly desired.
