Maintains payroll records and complete reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government.
Provides accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify, maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports.
Examines financial documentation for accuracy, adequacy, and with compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government.
Answers requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff, and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures.
Maintains, corrects and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
This position requires the successful completion of the Financial Management Level 1 Certification within 2 years of employment.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes utilizing accounting systems to maintain accounting data or create financial reports; providing advice and/or guidance on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures; and maintaining payroll records for personnel within an organization or agency.
Education
