The Office of Account Management oversees the creation and manages the implementation of an enterprise-wide account management strategy. They develop and facilitate the customer account planning process across FAS, organizing business development strategies that integrate to support the corporate FAS stakeholder goals cascading to FAS program level goals. In addition, the Account Operations Manager plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the work of the branch providing service, research and analytics to both internal and external stakeholders.

Incumbent functions as the Supervisor to a group of Customer Service Directors (CSDs) and is responsible for meeting established annual business goals and objectives. Sets overall policy and acts as a resource in implementing comprehensive account management strategies and in developing innovative solutions to meet business objectives.

Functions as a mentor for CSDs by inspiring new and more efficient ways to conduct customer relationship management activities, collaborate effectively with all other GSA activities and expand customer service and cost saving business opportunities.

Supports the CSDs through coordinating customer engagement strategies for the assigned client agency accounts. Ensures follow through on commitments made with customer agencies and facilitates business development activities.

The employee exercises the following first-level supervisory responsibilities over a staff. The incumbent is delegated full responsibility to manage the Section. The incumbent plans, schedules and directs work
on a daily, quarterly and annual basis. Incumbent provides requirements and descriptions of the work to be accomplished and sets work schedules, deadlines, and standards of acceptable work.

The GS-14 salary range starts at $122,198 per year.  

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 Level or higher in the Federal service. 

Specialized experience is experience performing strategic planning, financial oversight and/or implementation of programs related to market research, training techniques, customer service and business development concepts. Such experience must have included client and customer interface across all levels for the purpose of developing new business markets; creating and maintaining new customer relationships; and developing, executing and monitoring strategic plans and business processes that align with program and agency goals and performance measures.

  • Skilled in providing requirements and descriptions of the work to be accomplished and sets work schedules, deadlines, and standards of acceptable work.
  • Experience in identifying developmental and training needs of team members and closing the gap.
  • Exceptional skill in customer account planning process.
  • Experience in organizing business development strategies.
  • Expert ability to utilize a CRM database.
  • Skill in providing service, research and analytics to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expert experience in handling inquiries from customer agencies.
  • Experience acting as a liaison between the customer and the appropriate GSA organization.
  • Expert ability to collaborate effectively.
