Duties

Help
  • Provides maintenance and repair on highly complex computer-controlled warehousing/stock handling equipment and centralized monitoring and control systems,
  • Utilizes diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures for isolating equipment malfunctions using specifications, technical manuals, schematic diagrams/drawings.
  • Interprets electronic, electrical and mechanical drawings, specifications and schematics of complete custom automated warehouse materials handling system.
  • Performs scheduled/periodic preventive maintenance on equipment, as required in accordance with established schedules.
  • Troubleshoots and performs repairs on AC/DC circuitry, solid state circuit boards and sophisticated equipment.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electric Industrial Controls Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. - Ability to perform inspection, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and error resolution duties on highly complex computer controlled automated warehousing/stock handling equipment, as well as centralized monitoring and control systems. Ability to apply AC, DC and digital electronic theory to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, logic and control circuits. Ability to interpret and apply electrical and logic diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings to trace electrical paths and signal flow through complex automated systems during troubleshooting. Ability to use test equipment such as multimeter, voltmeter, ammeter, oscilloscope and software to facilitate troubleshooting and repair of complex automated systems Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Work is performed in a sitting position for extended periods. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, and stooping is required. Required to work at heights up to 97-feet while performing preventive maintenance, or freeing up jam loads on reacher and stacker equipment. Lifts, carries, handles items weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lifts/handles items weighing; more than 40 pounds. Assistance is usually available when lifting heavy items.
  • Work is usually performed inside lighted, heated, and ventilated warehousing areas. Occasionally exposed to beat or cold. Subject to inquiries such as electrical shock, cuts and bruises and burns caused by electrical energy, soldering irons, and welding.
