Duties

Help
  • You will stand at assigned Entry Control Points (ECP) post.
  • You will control access through ECP in accordance with post orders, rules, regulations, and/or policy with proper employee and visitor identification, badges, credentials and vehicle passes.
  • You will Access databases for proper authorization of the visit request, identifying the individual to properly badge and maintain required logs.
  • You will use independent judgement and act quickly when making material and package determinations because of the potential impact to damage aircraft and its equipment on the facility.
  • You will monitor and control access to classified areas where there is potential for a breach of national security.
  • You will monitor radio emergency frequencies, as designated to perform emergency actions when calls are received over the Emergency Response Line (ERL).
  • You will assist and train junior personnel in the operation and actions of systems.
  • You will receive and initialize Incident Complaint Reports (ICR) on all employee and customer complaints.
  • You will recognize and issue parking violation tickets, requiring traffic court appearances for verification of violation and testimonial purposes.
  • You will perform as a command first aid responder, required to administer general first aid and make determination if on-the-spot aid can be given or if evacuation to a higher facility is required.
  • You will review processes, products, or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards.
  • You will attends regular meetings with Safe Site Leads and Department Heads.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • May be required to obtain Occupational Health Certifications in Certified Safety Professional (CSP),Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Health Physicist (CHP), or similar certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain current First Responder, First Aid, AED and CPR certifications in order to support medical emergencies.
  • You will be required to wear a uniform.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

For GS-05: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Safeguarding personnel and property; 2) Enforcing security rules, policies and regulations; 3) Receiving incoming emergency calls and calls for service; 4) Monitoring radio frequency; and 5) Monitoring closed circuit tv and electronic security systems.

For GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Safeguarding personnel and property; 2) Enforcing security rules, policies and regulations; 3) Receiving incoming emergency calls and calls for service; 4) Monitoring radio frequency and coordinating security response; 5) Monitoring closed circuit tv and electronic security systems; and 6) Responding to emergency and routine calls for service and complete security documentation.

For GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Safeguarding personnel and property; 2) Enforcing security rules, policies and regulations; 3) Receiving incoming emergency calls and calls for service; 4) Monitoring radio frequency and coordinating security response; 5) Monitoring closed circuit tv and electronic security systems; 6) Responding to emergency and routine calls for service and complete security documentation; and 7) Providing support to the shift supervisor and acting as such during supervisor's absence.

Additional information

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
