Summary

As the Cybersecurity Services Branch Manager in the AIT Information Security & Privacy Service (IS&P), you will report to the Division Manager of the Cybersecurity Operations Division and direct the work of subordinate employees within the Services Branch. Work usually includes routine project/program tasks based on established policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will perform managerial duties such as setting priorities, assigning tasks, monitoring and evaluating performance, coaching and developing employee capabilities, approving leave; and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action as appropriate. You will use assigned budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish objectives. You will manage the budget and request additional resources as needed. You will also contribute to budget planning processes and project future needs. You will apply a comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, a detailed understanding of budget, human resources, and other administrative policies and procedures, and a detailed understanding of the organizational unit's objectives.

In addition, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the following: Developing short and long-term cybersecurity scanning strategies to support external directives and internal policies. Management of a team of cybersecurity professionals focused on vulnerability scanning and penetration testing. Mentor and develop team members through coaching and training. Oversee the execution of vulnerability scans and penetration tests to identify, assess, mitigate, and report on cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities. Create custom scans and scan policies, tune settings for optimal performance, and troubleshoot scan issues; I investigate false positive findings, report metrics for scan coverage and discover misconfigurations or misconfigurations, deploy, maintain, and tune scanners to meet current and future needs, troubleshoot issues with the scans, credentials, agents, policies, and Update scan zones to include new network ranges.

The Cybersecurity Services Branch Manager will also provide oversight of ongoing analysis and improvement of existing cybersecurity processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The incumbent shall develop and form strong working relationships with the partnering Cyber Operations functions key technology leaders and other stakeholders with an emphasis on customer service as the outward-facing arm of the security operations organization. The manager will be responsible for formulating contract requirements and engaging in contract oversight including reviewing and accepting deliverables. Continued process improvement and overall customer satisfaction requirements. Continuously evaluate technologies, solutions and processes for modernization with the goal of cost reduction, greater accuracy, and efficiency gains. Implement and maintain compliance with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and other relevant standards and regulations, executive orders, emergency and binding operational directives,

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience is: Experience conducting or overseeing vulnerability scans and recognizing vulnerabilities in security systems for both on-premise and cloud infrastructures, to include penetration testing principles, tools, and techniques.
