Duties

Help

Prepares, schedules, and delivers emergency equipment to and from Senate offices and accounts for equipment in those spaces while ensuring functionality. Explains office services, instructs on proper emergency equipment use, provides necessary support, and researches responses to general inquiries. Processes equipment returned from various Senate locations and monitors supply levels, restocking and organizing items as needed. Creates and maintains accurate manual and electronic records of inventory, service requests, appointments, and receipts. Notifies customers of service request status, responds to service calls, and troubleshoots minor problems with emergency equipment. Communicates with supervisory staff to prioritize and coordinate the processing of rush inventory/service requests. Assists in administering quality checks and maintaining efficient workflow. Supports the office during emergencies, special events, and exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Required to be available at all times for sudden recall in response to emergency events affecting the Senate campus/community.

Required Work Experience

  • 1 - 3 years.

Required Special Skills/ Knowledge

  • Knowledge of modern inventory control, materials management, and asset management practices.
  • Knowledge of office equipment, computers and relevant software/Web applications, and spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to enter and keep accurate digital records.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data.
  • Ability to accurately prepare and process a variety of reports, records, and documents.
  • Ability to test and make minor repairs to emergency equipment issued to offices.
  • Ability to effectively interact with colleagues, vendors, and customers representing all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Working Conditions

  • Work requires good hand-eye coordination; the ability to use hand tools regularly; the ability to sit or stand for extended periods; and physical effort such as walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and/or safely lifting, pushing or carrying objects up to 50 pounds.

Education

High school diploma (or GED).
