Duties

Help
  • You will serve as a Telemetry Engineering Technician with responsibility ensuring proper systems configuration and management for Fleet and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation missile telemetry data collection.
  • You will perform operation and maintenance oversight for range telemetry systems complex, and you will take part in redesigning and upgrading initiatives.
  • You will design, develop, and manage telemetry software systems in support of range safety display and mission situation awareness data distribution.
  • You will be responsible for the overall readiness of assigned telemetry assets to support scheduled range commitments and take necessary action to ensure systems capabilities and resources are in place to conduct scheduled range service commitments.
  • You will coordinate efforts with the Department system owners, systems engineers and mission engineers to upgrade and modernize telemetry systems in building and sustaining range telemetry support requirements.
  • You will provide Cybersecurity support for the accreditation and maintenance of accreditation for all telemetry systems.
  • You will perform special studies, as directed, to optimize range instrumentation support for Fleet training, and preparation of proposals for support of programs which utilize specialized or unusual support methods.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Program Manager, proficiency level Intermediate, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing technical engineering services for a Range Facility (e.g. Missiles) to collect telemetry data and execute system installation, set-up and integration in support of Research, Development, and Test and Evaluation for range operations and fleet readiness.

This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
