Help

  • Responsible for overall project management consulting and oversight of the PMIS project, including business management of complex and technical information technology (IT) issues to integrate systems functionality with the project delivery process from the preliminary project planning stage through design, construction, equipment installation and close-out stage on a national basis to support the success of regional or central office activities.
  • Directs and performs budget and execution to support each step in development. Establishes evaluation criteria and measurements; implementing a system for  review, control and reporting on project status on an ongoing basis nationally.
  • Continually updates stakeholders within the Office of Project Delivery, other PBS business lines, and within the various regions with regard to the PMIS project issues and status. Briefs key leadership on costs, impact, feasibility, alternatives, issues, recommendations and status of project development and implementation. Leads and facilitates the efforts and expertise of numerous staff members from a wide range of disciplines.
  • Monitors new and proposed legislation and regulations for impact on projects. This may include legislation and regulations related to capital development projects as well as those of client organization that could impact the progress of each project.

The GS-14 salary range starts at $122,198 per year.  

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  

Specialized experience is one year of experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is:

  • Developing and implementing Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) to include developing plans and system strategies while providing solutions and  formulating short and long term program goals.
  • Implementing Training and Support on project management disciplines, which includes training for PMIS users, managing help desk functions and responding to questions regarding usage; budget and the financial processes.
  • Performing PMIS Administration including updates to stakeholders and determining costs and impact of project development and implementation.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

You will be scored on the questions you answer during the application process, which will measure your possession of the following competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Your responses to these questions must be supported by your resume or your score may be lowered.  

  • Knowledge and experience with both capital project management and systems or software development.
  • Knowledge of systems development practices, governing laws, regulations, methodologies and/or policies to provide sound and authoritative technical guidance on all issues related to the assigned program.
  • Skills include budgeting, planning, scheduling, cost analysis, tracking, controlling, reporting, forecasting, estimating, coordinating resources, motivating and teambuilding.
  • Ability to work effectively in the business, procedural, regulatory, legal and contextual environment.
