Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: June 4, June 14, 2024 and closing on June 28, 2024. Announcement will close once position is filled.

Performs a variety of duties in support of the day to day operation of the family pool. Assists the Aquatics Programs Monitor (APM) in developing and executing a comprehensive year-round aquatics program to meet the needs of all patron demographics and mission-essential training for the active duty. Prepares program plans, marketing requests and after action reports for programs at this location. Inspects pool equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with AF Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), public health, and fire prevention mandates. Reports damaged equipment and/or facilities in writing to the APM. Conducts minor repairs and preventive maintenance of pool equipment and/or facilities as needed and/or directed and documents IAW activity policy. Performs daily and/or weekly inspections of the pool facilities and equipment to ensure safety, cleanliness and compliance with operational standards and completes the associated checklists IAW activity policy. Serves as a pool attendant enforcing patron eligibility IAW activity policy. Ensures patrons are screened IAW AF guidelines prior to conducting equipment orientations, fitness assessments or fitness programs. Greets patrons/visitors, answers telephones, makes facility reservations and provides accurate information on scheduled event/classes/programs. Provides facility orientations to include operation hours, policies, safety procedures and patron emergency response actions. Performs water rescue and emergency response IAW the lifeguard certification. Conducts equipment orientations, swimming assessments and swimming improvement (stroke mechanics) classes upon request. Performs opening and closing procedures IAW activity policy. Assist in the set-up and tear-down of facilities and equipment for events/programs. Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must possess a current nationally recognized Lifeguard certification, to include basic first aid and CPR/AED; or be able to obtain within 30 days. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds and successfully complete a pre-employment physical exam. Must read, write and speak English fluently and be able to communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
